Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 7 October 2026

Broad Notion earns money from some of the links it publishes. This page explains which ones, what you pay as a result, and what the arrangement does and does not influence.

1. What an affiliate link is, on this site

Some pages here link to Norton AntiVirus Plus, and those links are paid. They are ordinary links — the address in your status bar is where you go — carrying a code identifying this site as the referrer. If you sign up after following one, the network pays GRESKO s.r.o. a commission.

That is the entire mechanism: no redirect, no script rewriting the destination, no pop-up, no page in between. Every affiliate link opens in a new tab and carries the markup that tells search engines it is paid.

2. What it costs you

Nothing. The price is the same as if you typed the vendor's address in yourself: the commission comes out of the sale, not out of your pocket. If you would rather not use the link, going to the vendor directly costs you the same and costs us the commission, which is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

3. Where the disclosure appears

In three places, so that it is difficult to miss and impossible to collapse out of sight:

  • A box on the homepage, directly beneath the opening questions, at ordinary text size.
  • A line immediately beside every affiliate link, saying that the link is paid and that your price is unaffected.
  • This page, linked from the footer of every page on the site.

4. What the commission does not decide

It does not decide which questions are answered here, or what the answers say, or whether a free step comes before a paid one. That order is fixed in every answer: short answer, likely causes, what to try at no cost, when to ask for official help, and only then where a paid product may or may not help.

You can check this against the content rather than take it on trust. Several answers conclude that a paid product would not help at all: an unsupported operating system, a full disk, a failing drive, battery life, a password already entered, money already transferred. Those sections would be more profitable if they ended differently.

5. What does decide it

Questions are chosen because people ask them, often, in those words, and because there is something useful to say that does not require seeing the device. Answers are determined by what the official Australian sources and the vendor documentation say — the Australian Cyber Security Centre, Scamwatch, the eSafety Commissioner, the OAIC, the ACCC and the Australian Classification Board among them. Where those sources and a commercial interest point different ways, the sources decide.

The practical consequence is that a product is mentioned where it is relevant and omitted where it is not: a page about reporting a scam carries no paid link among the reporting steps, because software is not what that reader needs. The about page sets out the method in full.

6. Why we say so little about the product itself

Norton AntiVirus Plus is described here as what it is: a paid antivirus product sold by its publisher. We do not reproduce its feature list, device coverage, pricing or subscription terms, and we publish no test scores, ratings or awards. Those details change, and a copied feature list is out of date within months. A page that earns a commission is also not the right place for a claim you cannot check.

7. The relationship, stated plainly

GRESKO s.r.o. has a commercial relationship with the vendor of the product mentioned here, through the affiliate network, and it consists of commission on referred sign-ups and nothing else. GRESKO s.r.o. is not a reseller, partner, authorised distributor or agent of any vendor, and no vendor sees a page before it is published.

8. Trademarks

Trademarks: Norton AntiVirus Plus and the other product names, logos and brands on this site are owned by their respective owners. Other than the paid affiliate links explained in our disclosure, Broad Notion is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.

9. Australian consumer law

Misleading or deceptive conduct in trade or commerce is prohibited under the Australian Consumer Law, and that obligation falls on this site's publisher as much as on any seller. Disclosing paid links is part of meeting it; the ACCC explains the law at accc.gov.au.

10. Questions about this

If anything here is unclear, or a link seems insufficiently disclosed on a page, write to info@broadnotion.online and we will fix it or explain it.
